Empuriabrava is a town of the municipality of Castellón de Ampurias, in the comarca of the Alt Empordà, province of Girona (Spain). It is located in the Rosasgolfo Gulf of roses, surrounded by the Parque Natural dels Aiguamolls, and constitutes the most important residential marina in Europe, with about 24 km of navigable channels.
It is a tourist destination of the first order in Europe, highlighting French tourism, German, Dutch, and Russian. Apart from the marina and the Marina, the complex has a very solid commercial tissue established mostly in the area of Els Arcs.
Transport
Road
The main means of communication is the C-68 highway which connects with Figueras (18 km) and in this city with the N-II road and the AP-7 motorway. A regular bus line connects the estate with the nearby municipalities.
Sea
The estate, being a marine, is a marina with about 5000 30kms.
Air
The aerodrome of Empuriabrava, privately owned, has as main activity skydiving, being in this activity one of the most important centres in the world in number of hops (some 125,000 jumps a year).
